A "TICKLED PINK" 1st birthday

I've been dying to post these pictures of Bee's 1st birthday, but long story short I couldn't get them off of my camera. So (a week and a half later) here they are.

These were her cute little invites we sent out.

We decorated everything in pink boas for the theme "TICKLED PINK". We had a pink ice cream bar where all the candies were pink, pink strawberry cheesecake cupcakes, pink lemonade cookies, pink velvet cake pops, pink oreo truffles, and pink lemonade to drink. Thank you pinterest....

Trev and I ended up making 50 cupcakes, 30 cake pops, and 25 cookies.... we came home with 6 cupcakes, 5 cake pops and some cake was all.

My mom made her cakes. They were soooo cute!! we had a baby bear and a mama bear.

I came across this idea last second and decided it was such a cute way to remember her party and also have something that she can read back on when she gets older. I am going to do the same thing each year on her birthday just as a little memory book.

The poem says:

WAIT!
Stop here you see
and write a very special message to me.
Make a prediction of where I might go
or share a birthday wish for me to always know.
Write your note on any page.
This something I'll treasure at any age.

It was pretty cute to read through what everyone wrote after the party.

She was a bit confused on what to do with presents.
Once we opened them and she realized there were toys under the wrapping then she would run around and play with them, but until we unwrapped them she wasn't quite sure what to do. After she would open a gift about 90% of people would say "oh, by the way, I searched for the most obnoxious, loud, annoying toy that the batteries are really hard to take out of."
They are too kind to us...

She destroyed her cake.

One little candle, One little cake, One first year to celebrate.

Brecklyn,

It's hard to believe a year has gone by already. You have turned into a such a spunky little girl. You can definitely steal the show and entertain any crowd. I never thought a little girl could completely change my perspective on life and better yet, teach me patience that I never thought I had. You're such a blessing to us and mean the world to your dad and I.

11 months

As much as I hate that this little lady is getting so big I absolutely love her  personality she's developing.

She's a crazy girl with no fear.
She stands up on chairs, toys, you name it....
We recently moved and the first thing she did was crawl right up the stairs (surprised us that she knew how to do them since we never had stairs at our old house) BUT then once she got to the top she thought it was funny to get a running start and dive down them...... Ohhhh heaven help us....
Thank goodness for the invention of gates.

I love that she can tell us exactly what she wants now.
She will point to something and say "This"
She can answer (for the most part correctly) Yes and No questions.
I started teaching her sign a few weeks ago because for some reason she wasn't catching on to saying the word "more" and that did the trick. She now signs and tells us "more." She also signs all done, please, and thank you. We have started teaching her spanish as well. We found these cute spanish/english first word books that she seems to really like. They are teaching me some spanish as well since Trev has only taught me how to cuss someone out real good in spanish. Thanks honey, I'm sure it will come in handy someday.

Her new words are buh-bye and class, even though sometimes she forgets to emphasize the CL on class and just walks around saying "ass." We always have to explain ourselves on that one.

When you ask her to fold her arms and be reverent she actually does... for about .2 seconds. Church with this little one is a CHALLENGE!!!
She's definitely not the type of kid that is quiet and sits still. Luckily she gets to go to nursery in our ward when she turns 1 (which is in 2 weeks) that I'm sure she is going to love.

I'm excited for her one year check up to see where she's at.
According to our scale she is 19 lbs.
I finally got rid of some of her 0-3 clothes, more for the fact that they were nasty cause she has worn them for 11 months. She still wears all of her 3-6 months up through 9 month clothes.

I wish time would freeze and keep her little forever. She's my side kick and free entertainment everyday. I seriously don't know what I would do without this little girl.

Here's a little sneak peek of her 1 year old photo session.
I can't believe I'm about to have a 1 year old, even though I've been planning her 1st birthday for months now. :)

10 Months

I wish I could freeze time and keep Brecklyn at this age forever.
She loves to dance. Most of the time she walks around with her phone that's playing music and dancing to it. We love to chase her around the house just to listen to her squeal and laugh.
I absolutely LOVE it!

I will admit it, most days she gives me a run for my money, but it's a pretty entertaining run. It amazes me at the new things she learns every month. I was just reading back on last months post that I did about her and it seems like she is a whole different person, but it's only been a month.
How is that even possible?

She waves and says "Hi" like a maniac to EVERYONE! I mean everyone! A simple trip to the grocery store has now turned into to an all day event. Once she waves to someone of course they have to come over and chat with her. The old ladys are the worst. I end up hearing their whole life story and about all 18 great grandkids they have. I literally scope out who is in the aisle before I go down it to save time. But heaven forbid someone doesn't wave back to her she gets PISSED and starts yelling.

She has hit this stage where she thinks it's funny to hide everything. We bought her a kitchen set for Christmas and this chick hides all kinds of crap in the oven or fridge of it. That's the first place we go when were missing something and usually it's stuffed inside. One night she was picking things up in the living room and running down the hall then would come back for more, but would never come back with the item she left with. So, I sat and watched what she was doing. She was loading everything up in the bath tub. Sometimes I wonder what's going through her head.

She is talking up a storm. She says Dada, Mama, Uh-Oh, Hi, Boo, Whoa, and her newest word Papa. It's so sweet. She also tells you what a monkey says and what a dog says.

She got stuck with my jumping skills.... Poor kid.

Somedays I get this glimpse of a girl that seems to be all grown up. The other night I was trying to entertain her before bedtime and I asked her to go get a book out of her room so we could read it and to my surprise she ran right into her room picked up a book off her floor and brought it out to me. I'll admit it, It made me cry. She does the same thing when I ask her if she wants to get in the tub. She'll run right into the bathroom and bang on the tub. She has an obsession with the toilet (maybe that means she'll be easy to potty train.. one can only hope) so I let her sit on it while the tub is filling up. She acts like it's the highlight of her day. She gets so excited.

She is such an independent little girl. She wants to do everything on her own. She has gotten to the point that she doesn't even let me feed her. She refuses to eat it unless she's the one doing it. She loves pancakes and would eat them for every meal if I'd let her. Crazy little girl.

Christmas 2013

Okay, so I'm back tracking a few weeks back to Christmas to try and catch up on this blog thing...

Christmas felt like a whole new holiday this year with a little one. It was so exciting carrying on all the traditions for our little family.
To say the least Brecklyn go spoiled like crazy.
I literally had to box up all her old toys just to make room for all her new toys that Santa (or I should say Grandparents) got her.
At least once she gets bored of these toys I'll have a box of toys that will seem brand new to her.

This year we spent Christmas Eve with Trevor's Family and Christmas day with mine. It was really nice not having to run back and forth between families, It was actually really relaxing.

Trev and I stayed up till around 1-ish on Christmas Eve putting toys together and getting christmas set up.
IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!
We wanted to start a new tradition where on Christmas morning the room is filled with balloons. Since Bee was so small this year we took it easy and just did 1 package of balloons.

I actually got this idea from my cousin, Morgan. It was one of their family traditions growing up and she has actually carried it on with her boys. This was her living room on Christmas morning. I couldn't help it, I had to share it. It was freakin impressive! It puts my 20 balloons to shame.

Seriously, what kid wouldn't want to plow through this?
Freak, I'm 23 and would love to roll around in it.

Bee was a bit overwhelmed on Christmas morning. She wasn't quite sure what to think of everything, but eventually warmed up and opened her gifts. She had to kiss every gift she opened, I guess that was her approval that she liked it.

She was pretty content for the rest of the day just playing with toys  and eating ice cream with grandpa.

9 Months

It's crazy to think that this little girl has been out of my belly longer then she was in it.
9 months goes by a heck of a lot quicker not being pregnant.

She is crazy as ever!
I have no idea where she would possibly get that from.

She is discovering other little kids, and loves them.
She can go from her belly to her feet in .2 seconds.
She can tell you what a monkey says.
She doesn't have a shy bone in her.
She copies every little thing we do.
She says "Dada" and "Uh Oh"

She has said "Mama" once. I'm convinced she thinks it's a game.
I'll ask her to say "Mama" and she immediately replies with "Dada"...
and then laughs.

It's getting to be so hard to get monthly pictures of her. She doesn't hold still longer then 2 seconds. By the time I sit her on the floor and grab my camera is has already stood up and walked away. She's a quick one.

She tipping the scales at 18lbs.
She's in the 50th percentile for weight,
40th for her height,
and 70th for her noggin.
So in other words, she's top heavy.
No wonder I always have to cut her shirts to get them over her head.

I seriously can't wait for Christmas this year.
She loves all the Christmas lights.
We drove through Layton park and she hung out the window squealing at all the lights and when we got to the end she actually started crying. So, needless to say we went back through again.

She is totally an outside child. She doesn't care if it's freezing cold she still wants to go out and play.

Apparently this Santa was really creepy and she hated him.
He even just waived to her and she started screaming.
Drama. Queen.

Aunt Mimi came home for Christmas!!!
Bee wasn't to sure what to think,
but they will be BFF's before she leaves.

This chick is going to be so confused on what her name really is.
I think everyone calls her something different.
Trevor has a new name her weekly, I swear, but the usuals are Salamander and Sister. He comes up with some pretty funny ones.
I call her Bee, cause those her initials, Brecklyn Edyth Eschler.
Grandpa and Grandma Eschler call her Wrigley. That one explains itself.
Granny and papa call her Lou and Baby girl.
And even the little 3 year old boy that I watch has a nick name for her. He calls her Breckie.
She's going to have no idea what her name actually is.

8 months and on the go

This chick is the freaking energizer bunny these days.
She just keeps going....
And going.....
And going.....

I can't complain though, she is quite the entertainment now that she is walking.
Yes, full on walking at 8 Months.
I was caught off guard by that to.

She cruises like it's no big deal.
Don't mind that she isn't dressed.
This chick would be naked 24/7 if I'd let her.

It's so crazy.
Everyone always says how short she is when she takes off walking until I tell them that she is only 8 months.
That explains it.

According to our scale she is barely 18 lbs.
We will find out her exact weight at the Doctors in a few weeks.

She is still a FANTASTIC sleeper.
Seriously, I don't know how we got blessed with that nice little trait.
I couldn't tell you the last time I got up in the middle of the night with her.

If we were guaranteed that our next kid would be as easy going as Brecklyn is i would be having another one right now.
Yes Trevor it's true. Now get back up in your chair after reading that one. :)

She has never been the fussy, no sleep, cranky type of baby.
Although, she is very, VERY busy.

She has discovered how to shake her booty.

She find herself hilarious.
Church is so entertaining with her.
She will be in her own world playing and once they start playing a song she busts out dancing.
Anytime she hears music she has to stop and dance.

She has a huge fear of animals.
Which is fine with us since we both hate animals.
Although, my mom would say differently.
I was always the kid bringing home all the stray animals that I found on my way home from school.
So glad that won't be Brecklyn.

She tore apart pretty much every DVD we own and as she picked up the Little Rascals case she saw a huge dog on the cover.  It brought her to tears every time she looked at it.

She loves to play peek-a-boo.

She discovered the light switch in her bedroom.
I thought she was taking a nap one afternoon till I saw lights flickering in her room...

She finally has enough hair for a pony tail
You see that little thing??

She is such a water baby that we enrolled her in swimming lessons.
She LOVES them.
Every time we walk through the door to the swimming pool she starts squealing.

She helps herself to anything these days.

We went to the zoo lights the other night with a group of friends and she saw Santa.
She didn't mind him until he started tickling her feet and gettin' all up in her grill, then she lost it.

I was telling Trevor the other day how much Brecklyn is starting to act like us. Trevor will tackle me down and start to wrestle and Brecklyn just smiles from ear to ear... Then we go after her and she can't even contain herself. I watch a little 3 year old boy during the day and literally Brecklyn will tackle him down for his food. The other day she practically body slammed him and then attempted to take his PP&J sandwich. She is such good entertainment these days.
